Weak Swiss Export Data Highlight EU Woe -Sarasin

Weak Swiss export data highlight EU woes says Sarasin. Ongoing strength of the franc adds to the problems facing Switzerland's export industry, the brokerage notes. "The economic growth slowdown and the uncertainty in Europe is the biggest problem now facing Swiss exporters, and while the franc remains an issue, it is fading," says economist Alessandro Bee. "We saw declines of more than 10% in demand from Italy and France, and while they aren't as important as Germany, they signal the overall weakness in the region," he adds. "There was also a dip in sales to China and India, but that may have been caused by holidays."
