NZX-50, Asian Mkts Likely Higher After Weekend Spain News

Asian markets will likely open higher as "the ongoing progress they are making in Europe will hopefully flow through into these markets and give a little bit more confidence to investors to come back in," says Hamilton Hindin Greene Broker Grant Williamson. He says the NZX-50 is likely to see some buying interest in reaction to what happened in Spain on the weekend and firmer markets offshore Friday night. Given a dearth of local drivers, however, he says most buying interest is likely to focus on blue chips such as Fletcher Building (FBU.NZ), Contact Energy (CEN.NZ) and Sky City (SKC.NZ).  The NZX-50 ended down 0.7% at 3449.47 Friday.
