Following the Federal Reserve's decision to launch an open-ended bond buying program, "attention will soon turn to how the Bank of Japan may respond," notes Chris Walker at UBS. "Overt pressure is already being applied for further monetary easing," and the BOJ meets Wednesday. Economy minister Furukawa has already signalled that monetary policy should respond to the FOMC decision. The dollar has gained against the yen throughout the day after falling to as low as Y77.13 Thursday, and is hovering Fri near Y78.08, up about 0.85% on day, according to EBS via CQG.
