The corporate-bond market is making a run at the 2012 record for number of deals priced in a single day as 13 companies plan to sell at least $11B combined of high-grade debt. The year's high is 14, according to Dealogic. Walgreen (WAG) is issuing a 5-part deal across the maturity spectrum, from 18-month notes to 30-year bonds. Its total price tag is seen topping $3B. Meanwhile, Merck (MRK) and ConAgra (CAG) are each issuing 3-part deals. The action comes as according to Barclays, average corporate-bond spreads fell to a 13-month low Friday of 1.67 percentage points.
