Meryem Uzerli

Million Turkish-born actress Meryem Kassel Uzerli love (29): In a TV series, she plays a rebellious harem slave who becomes the wife of the Sultan. Now wants to settle the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan Soap.
Ertugrul Ozkok, the most famous journalist in Turkey explains the background:
For two years we Turks avid fans of Meryem Uzerli (29). The German-Turkish actress was born in Kassel - her mother is German and her father Turk.
After her acting training in Hamburg Uzerli was on German television on to see "A Case for Two". Here in Turkey, she has become a star - although she only speaks English with a German accent.
Since January 2011, she played the lead role in the television series "Muhtesem Yüzyıl" (The splendid century).
The story takes place in the 16th Century, tells the story of Hürrem - a harem slave who becomes the most important woman in the life of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. The series has been a success. Meanwhile, it will be broadcast in 22 countries, every week turn 150 million viewers.

Only one did not like the show: the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan (58). He believes that the harem of the Ottoman ruler Suleiman Soap puts in a bad light. "Suleiman has not spent his life with love games in the Harem", Erdogan should have said. Rather, he had on the back of horses always conquered new lands.
Erdogan has reportedly even asked prosecutors to act against the series. The airline Turkish Airlines has taken the series from the onboard program.
Now everyone is excited to see how the chief of the television station "TV Star", in which the series is to respond to the political pressure. Everyone expects that the harem Soap will soon deposed.
Or the scripts are changed. Maybe the harem scenes cut out and we see the future only, such as the magnificent Sultan rushes on horseback for new conquests. Fans of the series will not make happy - but the Prime Minister would have enjoyed it. And maybe the horse, which is a player in the series.
So it is with us in Turkey. The horses are becoming increasingly important, the women have to be content with supporting roles.
