Dismal Hungarian 3Q GDP data hit the forint, with EUR/HUF spiking to as high as 286.21, its highest since Oct. 4. The data show that Hungary stayed in recession in 3Q, with its economy shrinking 1.5% on the year in unadjusted terms, compared with the 1.2% contraction forecast. Unadjusted 2Q GDP was also revised down to show a decline of 1.5% on the year, compared with a previous reading of negative 1.3%. EUR/HUF is now back where it was before the data, at 285.48.
