The euro popped briefly after Eurogroup head Jean Claude Juncker said he saw "good chances" of a substantive deal tonight, but it's drifted back to earlier levels. Reports say he may have backtracked his comments a few minutes later, adding that he wasn't "entirely certain." Alan Ruskin at Deutsche Bank, however, is surprised the currency moved at all. "The market still believes there ultimately needs to be some debt restructuring (in Greece), with the official sector taking losses." The euro is up 0.2% today at $1.2815, according to EBS via CQG.
