Because one believes a recent U.S. study, female porn stars are not more prone to psychological problems than women who are a 'normal' job. Equally wrong are widespread stereotypes that women in the sex industry work, were victims of sexual abuse in most cases and or drug addicts are.

The findings come from researchers at Pennsylvania's Shippensburg University of. Texas Woman's University and the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation, a U.S. non-profit organization that regularly examined Pornstars on STDs
For the study, 177 porn actors aged between 18 and 50 years were compared with women of the same age, origin, and marital status, who have another job. More than a third of surveyed sex stars - an average of 3.5 years in the business - are married or in a serious relationship, 44 percent live as a single.
The focus of the study focused on sexual preferences and habits, self-esteem, quality of life and the use of drugs.
It refutes the common stereotype that women were out of the porn business often sexually abused as a child and even drug addicts are.
According to researchers, these stereotypes come from, inter alia, the propaganda of anti-porn activists.
In fact, however, are pornstars more confident, have a more stable social environment and a better body image.
In addition, they were fitter and slept better. Almost 70 percent of sex stars claim to have a fulfilling sex life. For women who do not work in the industry, it was only 33 percent.
