The Brazilian real is stronger against the dollar Tuesday because the central bank hasn't entered the market today, said Ovidio Soares, a trader at the Interbolsa brokerage in Sao Paulo. The real traded at BRL2.0249 to the dollar from BRL2.0277 on Monday, according to Tullett Prebon via FactSet. The appreciation has been relatively slow because the market expects the central bank to step back in to prop up the dollar if necessary, Soares said.
