It looks like Canada remains in favor with international investors, notes Nomura's Charles St-Arnaud. Foreign investors snapped up C$6.7B of assets in July, with the biggest inflow into Canadian equities since Feb 2011. Japanese investors took up C$1.6B of Canadian bonds, their biggest three-month buying spree since May 2010. The equity inflows are interesting, and suggest foreigners have confidence in the medium- to long-term outlook for the Canadian economy, says St-Arnaud.
