Treasurys Add to Gains as Fed Buys for 'Twist'

Prices around session highs as the Fed's routine Operation Twist buyback is showing up in holiday-thinned trading. The central bank bought $4.737 billion in notes due between Nov. 2020 and Aug. 2022, adding buying momentum to some flight-to-safety bids being stirred up by a weak NY manufacturing survey and protests abroad. Dealers put up $10.464B for sale. The Fed will act again later today, with a sale of shorter-dated notes. Benchmark 10-year notes up 10/32 to yield 1.835%.
