ASIA OUTLOOK: Regional stock markets may have a slight upward bias Monday after stocks on Wall Street ended flat to modestly higher Friday. Stocks may also take heart from Chinese trade data released over the weekend. China posted a wider-than-expected trade surplus for October, a positive signal for the world's second-largest economy. However, a slip in Chinese imports in October, especially the 18.5% on-month decline in copper imports, due to a week-long holiday could weigh on resources plays. In FX markets, continued uncertainty over the outlook for Greece and Spain will likely weigh on the EUR this week. German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble told Welt am Sonntag in an interview that he doesn't expect a decision on the next tranche of financial aid for Greece to be made at Monday's meeting of euro-zone finance ministers and stressed that the euro-zone countries won't bow to any time pressure. The EUR/USD is at 1.2714 from 1.2709 late Friday in New York, the EUR/JPY is at 100.98 from 101.05, and the USD/JPY is at 79.43 from 79.47. On the data slate there's Japan's first preliminary Q3 GDP estimates at 2350 GMT, Australia's September housing finance at 0030 GMT, India's September industrial production at 0530 GMT and Japan's October preliminary machine tool orders at 0600 GMT.
