NZD/USD Under Pressure;Markets Watching US Election

The NZD/USD is under some pressure in Asia as markets await the results of the U.S. election. The pair is at 0.8256 versus 0.8286 early in New Zealand. "It's really just trading around a broader range. Key support is around the 200-hour moving average of 0.8235," says ANZ Foreign Exchange Manager Murray Hindley. "It has certainly weakened off, but I think it is just the closeness of the race," he adds. If there is no clear immediate result, it will likely be negative for the Kiwi as investors take risk off the table due to the uncertainty, he says.
